On this page I will try to answer your questions about Computers and how to fix them and general operation.

One of the most common problems I encounter as a Computer Technician is Spyware and Adware infecting Customers Computers. Many people are unaware of the existence of the problem and only become concerned when their Computer starts doing strange things.

Symptoms include very slow running of the Computer, Pop-up ads, Browser going to sites you did not choose. In some cases the system will freeze as many programs running in the background compete for limited resources.

In most cases the Spyware and Adware can be removed by a little Computer maintenance and freely available anti Spyware and Adware programs. A proven antivirus program that is kept up to date and scans regularly is also essential. This is covered first as this is my most common problem.

I am including instructions on how to do this. Most Internet sites on this subject simply say delete all temporary files and cookies, but give no idea on what to do for the many people who are not Computer experts. I hope this site might overcome this problem.

These tutorial/advice sheets are based on Windows XP. Earlier operating systems are similar but not all details will apply. Any instructions you might read are based on my personal experience as a computer " fixer". In most cases I can fix the problem without losing your Data.
