Step 1 - Clean up all temporary files and cookies.

Start the Computer in " Safe Mode " and then open the Control Panel and then Internet Options.  (Details are here)

The following screen appears. 

First click on “Delete Files” in center of screen. When the box appears asking if you want to delete all offline content, tick the box and then click OK . Wait for file deletion to finish. If this has not been carried out recently this will take some time.

Then click on “Delete Cookies” – again confirm when asked.

Next click on “Delete History” – confirm when asked

Next click on “Start” then “run” – the following screen appears 

In the space provided type in the command   “ cleanmgr /sageset :11 “    (without the quote marks)   Click OK. The following screen appears. Tick all boxes and OK . This tells the Disk Cleanup command to remove many more unnecessary files than the default condition.

Again click on “Start” then “ Run” – type in “ cleanmgr /sagerun :11 “  - click OK. 

The following screen appears. The first time this command is run can take some time.
